"Officially", Paul Newman died on September 26, 2008, but the actor continues on as King Juan Carlos of Spain.

His Majesty, Don Juan Carlos I (born 5 January 1938) is the reigning King of Spain. On 22 November 1975, two days after General Francisco Franco's death, Juan Carlos was designated King according to the law of succession promulgated by Franco. In 1969, when Franco named Juan Carlos as the next head of state, Spain had had no monarch for 38 years. The Spanish Constitution of 1978 created and allowed this form of constitutional monarchy. This would mean that Spain progressed from the dictatorship of General Franco to the benevolent reign of this fake actor king! This actor performed in this role extremely well because he is widely approved by Spaniards and Spanish-speaking peoples of Ibero-America. King Juan Carlos successfully oversaw the transition of Spain from dictatorship to parliamentary monarchy.

But what is also interesting is his wife, Queen Sofia, who holds sovereign ruling title over Denmark and Greece. Queen Sofia, multilingual second cousin to Prince Charles and fashion diva exttraordinaire, is really Joann Woodward, age 82, the supposed widow of Paul Newman, generally considered at one time to be one of the most beautiful women in the world, with an accomplished history in the acting profession herself.
Queen Sofia has been by King Carlos' side for half a century. Compare this fact with the famous 50-year marriage between Paul Newman and Joann Woodward.

Well considering my aunt and uncle almost got merked in those camps i know that it actually is true. They were evil and sadistic. My uncle said he only made it because they wanted him as a worker and he was strong as a horse. but at the end he was withered away and dead. lived to be pretty old though.

ReplyDeleteThis has really nothing to do with Paul Newman/king of spain-but the ''actor'' Paul Newman was a class act at least his persona was. Contrast that to CLINT EASTWOOD who last night made a fool of himself on prime time TV at the REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION. the empty chair/the rambling dialogue/the shot old man routine. Shame on this whole Hollywood crime syndicate for sticking daggers in everything that the public views. They all deserve each other IMHO. Oh and Clint needs better dentures.
